Richard Childress says there is no dispute between him and the widow of Dale Earnhardt about what to do with the No. 3 that was driven by the seven-time Cup champion.

If there is ANY car number that NASCAR allows for its retirement it should be #3, the number so associated with the late Dale Earnhardt. I personally think #43 should also be retired also given that it was associated with Richard Petty, perhaps the second-greatest NASCAR driver after Earnhardt.
