One thing is for sure, if they flee back to Aruba and let the suit go default, it will make Joran look even more guilty than he already does, after all, if he didn't do anything why not answer some questions under oath?
I am a law student, but I am not sure about these jurisdictional issues. That will be the first thing that the Van der losers will raise. It would be different if the crime was committed here, there has to be some type of minimal contacts with NY... I am wondering if (supposedly)the fact that the Van Der Losers are working on a book deal that they stand to profit from and that book deal allegedly is taking place in NY, and is about Natalee, if that would help in any way with jurisdictional issues. This one is way above my 1 year in law school...but John Q. Kelly seems to think the jurisdiction problem is not a problem.
I hope this leads somewhere for the family's sake.
