E never intentionally wrecked anyone though, "he was jes rattlin thier cage a little" :-)
Also, as Tony pointed out this week, it is not the bump-drafting he is worried about, it is the SLAM-Drafting that it has morphed into because of boneheads like Kyle Busch (Singlehandedly responsible for every incident in the Bud Shootout), and even my fav Little E. has a bad habit of SLAM-drafting instead of bump-drafting.

Jerry Neadeau is the driver who was severely injured on the 01 car.

Not to mention the SLAM drafting in the corners which is a big no-no. I have Tivo'ed the Gatorade Duels today so I'm curious if NASCAR is really serious about punishing drivers for doing it.

I remember that one pretty clearly.
I was actually watching the race for some reason. I almost NEVER watch NASCAR.

It still pisses me off that they always have the Duels DURING THE DAY, where the majority of the TV audience is at work. Thank GAWD for Tivo ;)

I would agree that the younger drivers are cutting corners on their way to instant stardom. Dale, Sr. & the other veteran drivers knew just how far they could push things -- though I would argue that Earnhardt made a 'reputation' early in his career that helped him tremendously later on. (Oh, Sh-- there's the 3-car!) These younger guys are like headhunters compared to the old heads.
