Chicken bones are okay if they are raw. Never feed them cooked chicken bones or any cooked bones.
My dogs eat raw turkey necks, raw chicken backs and raw chicken wings that I get from my local butcher. They get lamb and rabbit two as a treat.
They also eat raw veggies, eggs, cottage cheese, fuits and canned salmon.
They get fema bones on Saturdays. They also get chicken and beef liver a few times a month.
They have to eat cooked potatoes, including sweet potatoes and yams as they are not good for them to eat them raw.
Also, grapes, avocados and macadamia nuts, dark chocolate, coco and the sweetener Xytitol can be fatal to dogs and cats.

Why are cooked bones bad for the dog? I'm starting to feel guilty.....I often give mine the bone left over from a steak or some baby backs. Any information you can provide is appreciated.

The Boogie actually prefers mashed potatoes (no gravy or butter) to beef. Hell eat corn on the cob off the cob but it has to be buttered. About the only thing he doesnt like is fish. If I want to want supper undisturbed I fix fish. Hell come into the dinning room, sniff turn and flip his nose and tail as he leaves.

I know this is a couple of days after the thread - but I'm wondering about the avacados? When we lived where there was an avacado grove - my sheperd's coat had never been so shiny. She didn't over indulge, but she sure loved 'em.
