Call CNN, then email the NewYorkTimes and Washington Post. Try and find WHorelado. There has got to be some kind of committee in WDC holding hearings and if you mention President Bush you are sure to get fast action.

Why didn't you have them hand you the check?

1. If this is legit, the landlord can do as he pleases based on your rental agreement. You need to get a job NOW so you have enough money to pay for your needs. You are an adult with a cell phone and internet capability. There are plenty of temp agencies you can go to bright and early in the morning. In the meantime, check out the online sites in your local area that have jobs--craig's, monster, or just do a search for "(location)temp agencies"
2.If this is a ZOT-worthy opus, it's lame. You are some lib who hates Bush, but look at the difference between your silly post and my response--I gave actual, workable information a Katrina victim can use. While you have only been silly. Silly silly liberal! Look at the silly liberal who screams about "the poor" who used his time to be silly, while this evil conservative posted something a poor person could use! Don't you feel silly?

Postmaster has taken full responsibility. LOL! Double BS!

I am confused ... you have a computer and a cell phone. Where is your computer?
As far as the landlord your story seems a little suspicious ... it is cheaper for him to keep you with a penalty for late rent than go to the trouble and expense of an eviction. Hey, you can always make the sheriff drag you out kicking and screaming.
Oh, and you have no recourse against the post office....sorry.

Probably has someone waiting in the wings to pay double or triple. Housing is scarce here

OK,I'm in the mood. I must be the only one who read your post and NOWHERE IN IT DID YOU ASK FOR MONEY!! You get points for that. You also get points for not telling the other dunderheads who answered you to go to hell.
I think it would be really hard to hold the PO liable for non-performance. It sounds like your landlord thinks you're running a scam on you and doesn't want to do this dance every month. What does your lease state? Does it allow the landlord to toss you if your rent is 15 days late? It must, judge agreed. So, think discrimination. Use it.

The greatest damage kartina caused was the wind blew out any remaining braincells that may have existed in the entire region.

I know its something one doesn't want to do with a new job, but given the shortage of workers and housing, have you approached your employer for help with reasoning with the landlord, finding alternative housing, or providing in house legal information.
Secondly I saw a news report in which the owner of a small apartment building was intereviewed and was having trouble getting his apartments fixed so those tenants who wanted to return could come home. Perhaps if you are at all handy or willing to do clean up work, you could find someone who would let you stay in a fixer upper, possibly free for a while, in exchange for working to clean it and fix it.

Contact a local church and explain your situation. They may be able to provide temporary assistance. Since you are obviously not a freeloader, there is no shame in that (you need a place to stay). Of course, the proper thing to do is to repay whatever it costs the church when you can afford to, in order to allow them to help others.
I am no lawyer, but I wouldn't think that taking on the U.S. Post Office is a winning proposition. Besides, it's probably not a good idea to upset postal workers, if you know what I mean.

You need to get a job NOW so you have enough money to pay for your needs. You are an adult with a cell phone and internet capability. Uh, did you read that at all? She has a job. The HQ for her company sends her paycheck via USPS. The USPS has continued to screw up her mail. (It is Louisiana after all!) She now has all of her past checks, but the landlord still wants to evict. Why is a good question, but she does have a job.
To: Darkwolf377
I HAVE a job. My income is directly related to my paychecks which were in the PO hands.

My income is directly related to my paychecks which were in the PO hands. So, your core argument is:
