I always liked the Gonzaga bball team b/c they hustled and had heart and honestly because they played a lot of white guys which showed that white guys arent dead in big time college sports.( White guys who deserved to play, btw)...
But i find this to be quite funny.

...and is apparently intended to suggest an opposing player is gay.No, the sheep herders went on to get married; I think it's intended to suggest an opposing player is a corn-holer.

I'll never forget the night John Cheney yelled at me and my frat brothers to quit chanting "YODA! YODA! YODA!" at Reggie Miller. Actually, that's not true, I've already forgotten most of that night. In fact, I only remember the Yoda thing because my friend told me about it the next morning. And by "friend told me about it the next morning" I mean read about it in the police report at the public defender's office.

apparently intended to suggest an opposing player is gay. Well, isn't that a good thing nowadays? Maybe the chant was a compliment.

This is fargin hilarious! And of course the administration and whatever fricken acronym org for the homos are pissed. Jeez, it's a chant? Why on earth get upset about the publicity for such an important movie? /sarc
You can just hear the rythm, candence and tone of the chant. I haven't even heard it and I bet it goes something like the "Darryl" chants against Strawberry.

In a letter to the Bulletin, the HERO membership wrote, "This is not even remotely the first time that Kennel Club chanters have chanted homophobic phrases at basketball games." If the movie name "Brokeback Mountain" is a homophobic phrase why hasn't there been an outcry to change the name of the movie?

with an article like this, I would start saying it if I were a student at Gonzaga just to be a jerk and defy the faculty.
They do realize that by making this an issue, the problem will now become WORSE?

This is so funny to me. I don't know where people come up with some of these chants. A few years ago Indiana Univeristy got all upset because people were chanting, "Hoosier daddy?" (like "who's your daddy) That one still cracks me up.
My brother works at a high falootin' private school on Chicago's north shore and they chant, "That's alright! That's okay! You'll all work for us someday!"

Good for the students. This is at least a small indication that the homo agenda isn't working.

I'm sick of those actors portraying gays in the West as "cowboys." They are "sheep herders" and one can only assume that the gay/homo crowd doesn't wish to be associated with the old joke about men and sheep.

Good thing they're not yelling it at their own players (or are they?)

You know, I always judge the amount of fun I've had, but the number of pages in the police report!
