I am a 'news junkie' with a problem. Being a news junkie, I am in the habit of leaving my TV on Fox News during the day, there in, is my problem. I own a wide screen, rear projection TV and I now have a 'burn in' of the Fox News logo on the left side, where their rotating logo is. I didn't think I would have a burn in problem because my set has a feature where you can 'toggle' the screen down to eliminate the news ticker at the bottom, which I knew would cause a problem, but I didn't think about the rest of their display.
Fortunately, I can only see it when there is a white screen but I can't leave my set on Fox News as I did before.
I'd like to know if there are any other Freepers out there, who own TV's which are subject to burn-in, have noticed the same problem and if anyone knows if there is a website for Fox Network which one could contact to address this issue. They may not be aware that this causing a problem with some sets.
At least anyone that comes over your house to watch TV, sporting event or whatever, will know that you are at least well informed. I'd be more worried if CNN was burned in there.......
If you listen more than watch turn down the bightness and contrast. This should reduce the "burn." Some TVs allow customer settings along with presets for differnt types of shows (i.e., Sports, News, Movies, etc...) Your's may also.
Surprised you don't have a FOX NEWS ALERT burned into your screen.

LOLOL!!!
I'm surprised that a rear projection unit would have this problem. Though I suppose it's possible with a rear projecting LCD system.
Plasmas are the worst offenders.
It could be worse, you could have Greta burned in.
Okay, call me ignorant or whatever, but I fail to understand why an item that is costly enough to be a once in a lifetime investment, should be plagued with this problem in the first place. I would love to have one of these big screen, HD flat screen LCD or plasma televisions with their awesome pictures, before I would put upwards of $1500 into a tv, no matter how great the picture, they'd have to guarantee me that that particular bug had been worked out.
That's gonna leave a mark.
Maybe you'll hear a continous buzzing from the loudspeakers....
"I now have a 'burn in' of the Fox News logo"
Your TV has officially declared itself to be a Republican, that's all. :)
It is a Fox News 47" Wide Sreen....now
You nailed it.
Yes, it warned of it in the manual but it stressed the ticker type banner, which runs along the bottom.
Thank God, I don't watch her.
I have a 'burn in' of George Costanza on my set.
