Actor Samuel L Jackson is to star in a new film exploring the aftermath of the Iraq war, it is reported.
The 57-year-old star will play an army medic who has difficulty resuming his normal life in Home of the Brave, says Hollywood newspaper Daily Variety.
The new film is to be produced by Irvine Winkler, whose other credits include Martin Scorsese's Raging Bull and Rocky, which starred Sylvester Stallone.

A bash-Bush opportunity?
If the movie is about the gruesome reality of war and the brutality and duplicity of the enemy, it will do well. If it is a blatant, Anti-American, ant-war at all costs, flick... It will flop, and Hollywood will sit there blinking wondering why Americans don't buy their crap.
I have this image in my mind of him having flashbacks to My Lai and Abu Ghreib type events over and over again.
I read the headline..my first thought was "Michael Jackson?"..WTF??? but considering where Hollyweird is these days, it's plausible, no?
Ditto!
I can see a t-shirt design...
On the left, under a picture of the fallen soldier's memorial (helmet, gun, boots).
"War sucks!"
On the right, a collage of terrorist attacks on innocent people, Saddam's soldiers marching in formation with missiles, Iran's president with a mushroom cloud in the background, and the world trade center towers being attacked... and underneath, "This sucks more!"
Nobody is truly pro-war, but many of us are against the enemies of our country running free and rampant over others, to build up their arsenals and terror cells so that they can attack us later.
*LOL* I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that same double take...
It'll be Jackson's best movie since "The Man!" Wait, that's not saying much.
Look at #7..that's 3 out of 9 so far...great minds MUST therefore think alike..right?

Jackson will play a doctor who has been stationed in Iraq for several months. After months of holding it together on the homefront, his wife is thrilled when he returns to his home and his regular practice. However, the man she sent away to war is not the same man that has returned. To her shock and dismay, her husband is rapidly unraveling before her eyes.
Filming is set to begin late February in Spokane, WA and Morocco.
(End of story.)
I don't hold high hopes for this.
Alan Alda had the job for years and he held up pretty well. Maybe Jackson's character needed a "Hotlips" to help him cope? :o)
Ab-So-Lute-Ly HILARIOUS !!!!!
One of the funniest clips I've ever seen. Thanks!
