I am so sorry to hear that one of your dogs has quit eating. That is often a bad sign but it could be as simple as a tooth problem. What does the vet say?

If the very worst happens and your beloved dog passes on, be sure that you show his/her (you didn't identify the sex) body to the big dog. My vet told me that this is important; seeing the body of her buddy will tell her that her friend will not be coming back.

In the words of my vet, "Dogs understand death."

Thanks for the info.I think it is her teeth.Today I gave her part of a codeine pill for pain.I cut up some hot dogs in small pieces which she could eat after the meds worked.I asked my wife to buy some cat food and some dogfood in the can.But about 5 days ago,she had some swelling under her chin.I assumed it was a spider bite. They are bad here. Both dogs have survived rattle snake bites but they arnt out now,I don't think. With the weather we are having they could be out now. What do you think about the swelling under the chin?
