#1 - Martin Truex Jr will do a full season and assume the #15 2005 owners' points so he will be guaranteed of being in the first 5 races.
#2 - Kurt Busch is in the Blue Deuce for the retired Rusty Wallace.
#4 - Scott Wimmer is in the AERO Exhaust (new sponsor) Chevy for the released Mike Wallace.
#6 - New sponsor on Mark Martin's ride, AAA replaces Viagra/Pfizer
#07 - Clint Boywer is in for the released Dave Blaney
#09 - Mike Wallace replaces Johnny Sauter on this part-time team.
#10 - The only things that have changed are the co-owner and the make; Evernham now co-owns the team with Valvoline instead of MBV/MB2, and Scott Riggs is driving a Dodge instead of a Chevy. They are NOT guaranteed of making the first 5 races.
#11 - Denny Hamlin's in full-time for "the-driver-of-the-week".
#14 - New number (was #10), new driver (Sterling Marlin for Scott Riggs), new sponsor (Waste Management part-time for Valvoline), new team name (they assume the MB2 carried by Nemechek's team because Valvoline also bailed on that aspect), but they do have the #10 2005 owners' points to fall back on.

#45 - Kyle Petty has a pair of new part-time sponsors (Wells Fargo, Schawn's) for the gone-to-Hendrick Georgia-Pacific.

#55 - Michael Waltrip formed an "alliance" with the former co-owner of the suspended-by-Penske #77, Doug Bawel to get the 5-race guarantee, and is getting his "Dodges" from Bill Davis Racing.
#61 - New driver (Kevin Lepage for the released former team owner Hermie Sadler), new number (was the #66 last year, no 5-race guarantee).
#66 - New driver (Jeff Green for the released Mike Bliss, one less sponsor (NetZero drops out), new number (was the #0 last year).

#96 - New for 2006, Hall of Fame Racing will start the first 5 races with Terry Labonte to claim the past-champ's provisional if necessary, then switch to Tony Raines for the non-road-course races (Texas Terry will do those).
