Corrected and official 2nd Duel lineup -
- This was set using the times of the 2nd-fastest qualifier from Sunday, the remaining teams that finished in the "even" positions of the top 35 in 2005 owners' points (2nd, 4th, and so on - note; Jeff Burton, who would have been in this Duel, was the fastest qualifier and is on the pole of the 1st Duel), and the "even"-fastest-qualifying (2nd-fastest, 4th-fastest, so on) "field-fillers" (teams not in the top 35 in 2005 owners' points).
- This race will set the "outside" positions 4-38 (even) for the Daytona 500 behind Jeff Gordon with the finishing order of the remaining "top-35" teams and the 2 top-finishing field-fillers. Positions 40-42 will be filled by the 3 fastest-qualifying field-fillers that don't finish among the top 2 field-fillers in either Duel, and position 43 will be filled by either Terry Labonte (if he isn't already in the field) or the 4th-fastest-qualifying field-filler that didn't finish among the top 2 field-fillers in either Duel.

+ Denotes driver/team not in the top 35 in owners' points at the end of last year but locked into the Daytona 500. Travis Kvapil (2nd-fastest field-filler in qualifying) is locked in by qualifying speed. He can improve his position by finishing among the top 2 field-fillers in this Duel
* Denotes driver/team not in the top 35 in owners' points at the end of last year and not locked into the Daytona 500.
Robby Gordon (4th-fastest field-filler in qualifying) can use his speed to make the Daytona 500 if one of the "guaranteed" drivers (Bill Elliott, Hermie Sadler and Terry Labonte in the 1st Duel, Kvapil in the 2nd Duel) finishes among the top 2 field-fillers in his respective Duel.
Kirk Shelmerdine (6th-fastest field-filler in qualifying) can use his speed to make the Daytona 500 if 2 of the "guaranteed" drivers finish among the top 2 field-fillers in their respective Duels.
Stanton Barrett (8th-fastest field-filler in qualifying) can use his speed to make the Daytona 500 if all 4 of the "guaranteed" drivers finish among the top 2 field-fillers in their respective Duels.
Otherwise, the only way for these drivers to make the Daytona 500 is to finish among the top 2 field-fillers in this Duel.
