Well this also points out the silliness of the Hollywood myth of the romatic thief. Thieves look for the least dangerous victim of opportunity. So they are properly called low-lifes who pick out the weak, ie elderly or in this case a 5 year old victim.

Very true. I heard a lecture by a woman who had researched rape victims, and she noted that in most cases, the victim was significantly smaller than average, and very seldom larger than average. She stated that many rape victims were around 5 feet tall. Very few were over 5'7". She believed that most predators looked for the easiest target. It's been a while since I heard her, so my numbers may be off a little.
