Anyone who can not acknowledge that the refs in the Super Bowl made error after error in favor of Pittsburgh is either lying, blind or simply clueless about football. Even my Steeler friends and coworkers were shaking their heads about the officiating. Had the serial errors been in favor of Seattle, the Seahawks would have won 30-3 and you want to talk about "whining"...?

My, you have short memories.....

15 January 2006

"We dominated the whole game -- till the referees wanted to help them," Porter said.

The outspoken Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker, who challenged the Colts' toughness in the days leading up to the game, did not stop there.

"I couldn't believe they were going to try to cheat us like that, for real," Porter said. "That was my thing. After we made that play (the near-interception), I thought the game was over. ... I'm going to get in trouble for it, I already know I'm going to get in trouble for it, but I'm ready to pay (the fine) anyway, because that's how mad I was with the refs out there. That was the worst I've ever been a part of. When you play in games, you feel (sometimes) like it might not be going your way. But that was cheatin' right there, man."

I vote for #1 regarding Petronski - He's too smart to not know better.

Horse puckey. I've forgotten more about football than most of these johnny-come-lately Seahawk fans who just jumped on the bandwagon this season. As another poster correctly pointed out, there were MANY calls that could have gone either way. Yes, the Steelers got the benefit of some, maybe even a small majority of those, but the Seahawks got some breaks as well. Of course, nobody mentions those, because losers just want to look for excuses.

Talk about someone who doesn't know football. Sheesh. Change one of those early calls and the game is different from there on out. Who's to say how it would have turned out? If the Steelers fell behind, do you think they might have run some different plays, done something different? Might Seattle have played differently? Oh, I see, let's cherry pick a few plays out of the game, have all those go in other team's favor and make up a score. Sure, that's rational. ROFL

As for Joey Porter accusing the refs of trying to take the game away from the Steelers in Indy, he is just as wrong as the people whining now.
