I don't get this fixation with Islam's past among many critics of Islam. Seems to me our side would increase credibility by focusing on the current problems of Islam, rather than talking about 1000 year old deficiencies.

Islam's current problems have their basis in Mohammed. The religion, law and culture all derive from him. If we can show them how they've been conned, maybe they can shift their thinking and come into the modern world.

Besides, it's fun to bash the old murdering pedophile.

You have to start at the root of the problem. People tend to cling to traditions very strongly even though they are not adequately educated about the truth behind them.

I've seen people vote democrat all their lives, not knowing the party has been hijacked by liberals......just because Daddy voted that way.. and his Daddy, etc. They're insulted when anyone could possibly disagree with their position... even tho they don't know what that position is. sigh.
