Poland no longer Central Europe's leading car producer 07.02.2006

The Czech Republic has outpaced Poland in the car production sector, thus capturing the position of Central Europe's major car producer. Slovakia will shortly follow in its western neighbour's footsteps. All this irrespective of the fact that car production in Poland in 2005, totalling over 527,000 new vehicles. This year is expected to be at least as good as 2005. The production level is expected to be maintained at the Tychy Fiat factory, Poznan Volkswagen factory and at FSO. An increase is planned at the Gliwice Opel factory. In the Czech Republic, however, production in 2005 amounted to 600,000 cars - all due to Toyota and Peugeot-Citroen.

A great thing for capitalism and east europe.
