By the way, the only real way anyone can actually ascertain whether the ball made it to the goal line is by seeing the video and stopping it frame by frame. No one knows whether these stills were taken before or after his furthest progress.
I had the chance to meet with some guys in the organization at one of their homes. They have some very excellent film of the entire game.
A fraction of a second before your still picture on the left, Ben was even further forward and higher in the air. It was clearly a TD then.
But, for the life of me, I cannot understand how seemingly relatively intelligent people are so bent out of shape on this. It was only third down anyhow. We could have scored twice.

The Steelers had a less-than-spectacular performance and still beat Seattle. But Seattle played very tough defense (at times I swear it looked like they had 13 men on the field), so that less-than-spectacular performance by the Steelers was because Seattle is very good.
Let me add, if you're into boxing at all like I am to an extent, you know that it's all about styles. Certain fighters who take part in a boxing match just meet in the ring, and the result is one ugly night of boxing. Others get together in the ring, and because of their styles, the match is loaded with great action. That's just the way it is. The same thing, imo, happened on Sunday. These two teams' game plans (personalities and styles) just matched up to create a real ugly affair (like Ellen Ratner on FoxNews Sundays). I remember the Pittsburgh/Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl long ago as about as ugly as this one. Sometimes that just happens.

Did you see the thread where I gave the Super Bowl I* trophy for whining and crying and crying and whining to bikepacker76? The asterisk, of course, signifies that he got the trophy for being the biggest whiner and crier on the Steeler threads.
There are many worthy runners-up as well. sink spur, maineman (girly-man), reagan man and a host of others.
But there can only be one real winner. The rest are also-rans at best.
I was wrong. If I had seen the play on video a few more times, it would have been obvious where the ball was at what point. The defender came in a little later to knock the ball loose. But that doesn't change the simple fact. The ball never crossed the goal line. I agree with you that having an opportunity to view the entire play with fastforward/rewind/slowmotion would help settle everything. Too bad we don't have that available with tele-conferencing capabilities.
