Yes, the dude tripped while making a cut. Not down by contact with an opposing player. NFL rules, not college rules here.

I have a popcorn smilies myself.I guess we've finally hit bottom.

Please read my post number 97. Former NFL ref Jerry Markbreit explains it quite clearly. The defensive player does not have to cause the man to go down. ANY contact by the defense on the way down makes the runner down when he hits the ground. I have seen the exact same call made hundreds of times in the last forty years of watching football. You are wrong to argue otherwise.

Heck, we hit bottom when the Hawks fans and the Steeler haters couldn't accept that they got beat by a better team.

I am only discussing the call on the Seattle's QB. He was touched by the defense on the way down, so he was down. Had he started to fumble before he hit the ground, it would have been a live ball.
I will let the conspiracy theorists discuss how the call on the field favored Pittsburgh.

losing isn't everthing. Its the only thing.
I thought you were talking about the Lions for a second there. It is ironic that the most pathetic excuse for an NFL team got to watch two real teams play on their turf.

Seattle should have won that game 17-14.

THE 'PHANTOM' TOUCHDOWN'
That picture blurly shows the refs made the right call. But that won't stop the whiners.

I don't think that is the ball unless he's fumbling it.
