We keep seeing this "I'm not a Seahawks fan, but..."
They are not Steelers fans either. These people hate the Steelers. Can't stand the fact that the Steelers won the game. Their fifth Super Bowl. Another trophy for Pittsburgh.
Poor sports displaying poor sportsmanship. Whiners and sore losers. Crybabies.
And those are the nicest things I have to call those people.
I'm not sure about that, but I think nursery facilities are being arranged, in case you are planning of attending.
Initially, I found the style a bit confusing...
Between the 3-D effect Roman numerals and the commas following the preceeding years,
the "XL" looked like "XI." to my aging, bifocaled eyes...
(((sigh))))
:(
Talk to Raiders fans about the Patriots' first championship, and a long list history of others who apparently have more trouble accepting reality than the players who play the games.
But then, maybe that's part of the reason they ARE the ones playing in the games as opposed to living vicariously through others.
The Steelers played poorly. It's fortunate that they still had enough to beat an inferior team that played well.
Curious about something. After Ben was intercepted and as he was running to try to tackle (whoever it was that caught his pass) a SEAHAWK player reached out and pushed him from behind. Wasn't that a personal foul? It was not called. I may be wrong, but that was not called. I think it happened in the 3rd quarter.
Yeah, Ben got pushed dead in the back, right between the numbers and was knocked down. A play like that could have hurt him.
No flag. Maybe the officials were all for the Seahawks, huh?
With all these sour grapes, vinegar prices should plummet.
And I respectfully disagree with him. Fact is, Madden should have retired a couple of years ago -- his analysis has been spotty at best. He also never gives Pittsburgh a fair shake, as he still holds a grudge dating back to the 70's...
Using words like "HATES" in reference to sports teams is, IMO, as out of touch with reality as expecting the games to be played and officiated by robots.
Maybe sticking to video games where there's no one to blame but yourself would be a good idea for those who expect perfection...of course then I guess they'd blame the programmers for glitches in the code if the game beats them.
Above the waist, not a personal foul. However, illegal block in the back (10 yd. penalty) should have been called.
Agree with everything in this post. I saw it exactly the same way. The only bad call was the blocking below the waist on Hasslebeck. He was making the tackle, which is legal, and hit a blocker in the process.
Okay, I feel less like a girl now:). Thanks for validating that concern.
If the SEAHAWKS were truly the superior team yesterday and really plagued by one sided referees, wouldn't they have overcome this obstacle much like the Steelers did against Indianapolis?
Madden ALWAYS says holding calls are wrong, he's just against that rule. I'm a fan of Madden, have all his books, gotten every version of the game since I got a computer that could run them, but holding is one of his blind spots. I've watched most of the games he's done color on for at least 15 years and never heard him say a holding call was correct, the closest he ever gets is making no comment, if he comments he says they shouldn't have called it.
I think the refs should be in the lead car.
marteen is just helping you focus yer peepers!
If you are a girl, you are putting a lot of the men on these whining, anti-Steeler threads to shame. Same is true if you are a man. You know the rules pretty darn well and you are very observant.
Hugs, baby.
