I thought of some past advertisers that sat out this year and found it interesting:

- Miller Lite
- Coke
- Coors
- AIG
- Tabasco
- Dominos

I am sure there are others. The most notable was Coke. Pepsi clearly missed the incentive as their commercials were pedestrian at best.

Most disgusting - Shaq's reference to a dead baby on some lame show. Real party material that was.

Through this year, Anheuser-Busch is the only beer company that can advertise on the Super Bowl.

Anheuser-Busch also is the exclusive national alcohol beverage advertiser for Super Bowl XL in Detroit, with 10 slots and four billboards planned for the Feb. 5 broadcast on ABC (Brandweek, Aug. 22), a designation it has held for 17 years.

Coke didn't actually sit out as Vault is one of their products, they just weren't pushing the Coke brand.

I think they should have had one for the new Black Cherry Vanilla Coke.
