Pittsburgh's quarterback did not cross the goal line on the first TD, the holding call against Seattle was non-existent, as Madden said, and the offensive interference against Seattle was a joke, as Steve Young said. They were all game changing calls.
What game were you watching? That ball was 2 inches over the line. That was the only correct call the refs made.
1. The ball broke the plane before he was knocked back.
2. There was an obvious hold (arm wrapped around his neck as he was running towards the QB.
3. Both teams made big plays but the Steelers made them count.
Sorry I can't join your pitty-party but it looked like the Steelers just took control of the game and won.
BTW-both teams played hard and deserve credit.
There was also the blocking below the knees penalty when Hasselback made a great tackle. This is absolutely the poorest officating I have seen in a year of poor officiating. I hope the NFL does something about it. Maybe they should think about hiring pro officials instead of having people ref a superbowl as a part time job.
Don't forget the 15 yarder against Hasselbeck for diving in front of the guy with the ball. LOTS of bad calls. This whole game was BS. May as well watch wrestling.
The ball broke the plain of the goal --- that's a TD
the holding call against Seattle was non-existent,
I didn't see it either
as Madden said, and the offensive interference against Seattle was a joke, as Steve Young said.
Madden and Young were both wrong. That was a classic example of a push off. Receivers do it often, but not usually when they are 10 feet directly in front of a referee.
They were all game changing calls.
Game changing? Maybe, but not nearly as significant as all the dropped passes (8?) by Seattle receivers or the critical breakdowns by the Seattle defense.
