Well, her cousin loved to bust on me for being shorter than she is.
(She's 6 freaking feet tall or more!)
I have a habit of speaking at my eye level.

My eye level is about half a foot or so below her eye level, and she'd make light of the fact, often.
Seems my shortness is a novelty to her.

Either that or the shade of red I turned was fascinating.
I dunno.

I do have to add some more warnings to it though.
Seems I owe someone a coffee pot due to full percolator explosion.
Something I hadn't anticipated.


Nope, hadn't read books by those authors yet, at least not to my recollection.

Because of possible perculator explosion, I have to admit that I am reluctant to try it. LOL

The books are cool by a Czech author. The "Painted Bird"was about a young dark haired kid who travelled through Eastern Europe during the war. He came across some very curious adventures. The Painted Bird came from a farmer who painted a plain sparrow? bright colors. He then let the bird out on a leash and the other plain drab sparrows attacked the painted bird because of the bright colors. Interesting analysis if you consider that is what people tend to do: they often attack others who are different than the usual drab. The bright colors of the painted bird angered the usual drab gray colored birds, so they attacked it. Get the message there?

"Being There" was made into a movie. Very simply, a person can really get ahead in life just by being in the moment, being present.

I am sure there are other interpretations of the books, it is just one interpretation. But very interesting.

Czechs or Slavic people in general might be more authentic and plainly true than some of the other European countries. Who knows?

You then haul them into the air by their skivvies as quickly as you can.

Then run like heck.

My kids used to hide biscuits like that from our dog. In several boxes. LOL! Our poor big sweet German Shepard Collie mix. The dog knew if he ever bit any of the boys, he would get sent straight to the pound, so my kids tormented him just like you were talking about. The dog also got his share of wedgies. LOL!! They would dress him up in an old t-shirt and pants. LOL! But he was like part of our family. We really loved that dog. And he was never hit or treated poorly except for the loving pranks. LOL! He was always well fed and kept warm and safe.

Our last dog was a husky mix.
She loved to wrestle around, but she didn't like it if we rotten kids were wrestling.
She'd nip our backsides and look concerned as if we were being bad.
So we'd have to wrestle with the dog instead.
(Flying arm bar tackle!!!)

Dogs are so cool. We never hit our dog, but he got bopped in the nose so often by our knees when he walked too close to us. My youngest son used to like to poke him on his big black rubber nose. ROFL! It didn't hurt the dog, but the rubber nose was fascinating... Our dog just thought it was a love tap. He was so cool... Of course, this was the dog that thought cats were his squeekey toys until they rudely stopped squeeking.

Tiny, who wasn't tiny, was a solid dog.
We never hit her, but we did wrestle with her.
She was a very physical dog, loved to wrestle around.
She did get stepped on, and accidentally clopped in the chops with shoes because she liked to be 'right there' when you walked along.
Of course, we'd stop short, and give her scritches while asking her if she was okay.
The dog would look at us like we'd gone nuts and pretty much go, "Yeah I'm okay, why are you people acting crazy?"

Dogs are pretty incredible creatures. I also like their sixth sense. Sometimes they know when something is going to happen before anyone else does. I've heard they can sense earthquakes, although mine didn't when we had one here.

And they say once they smell someone, they never forget the scent. Their sense of smell is so many magnitudes greater than ours.
