Contrare to popular belief, Limbaugh does have friends who aren't conservative (his girlfriend works for CNN).
That said, one of the writers on the show has identified himself as a hard right winger, (this was during some kind of controversey).
But either way, the character on the show that Logan plays, is a republican without stating as such.
FWIW, and from what all my friends think, they think characters are modeled after real life folks, but from different parties (they think Palmer is modeled after Bush, Logan modeled after Clinton, etc).
I think its just a TV show, and there isn't any message, its just entertainment and the charcters aren't modeled after anyone.
Though one guy told me they have a Karl Rove type character now.
Well they did add a "permit some terrorism to open the door for a war for oil" subplot this semester (and stated it roughly that way).
Keifer probably holds a number of conservative beliefs, but as a child of Hollywood, he knows how to mouth the party line. So , who knows?
