I think He's supposed to represent McCain honestly. 24 promotes a very conservative message (well what the Conservatives have adopted really) the message that Torture to get important info is neccessary.
McCain doesnt believe this, nor does Charles Logan. He's defintley a RINO imho.

Can there be any question that Logan is supposed to be a Nixon look-alike?

He's a Republican. Palmer was a Democrat.

Whatever he is, he's a weasel at best. No matter which side of the fence this dweeb sits, he's not man enough to be POTUS.

Democrat, but not important. The reason I say Democrat is that Palmer withdrew from the election. That would never happen with a nominated candidate for either party. He must have withdrawn during the primary.

The reason I say "not important" is that it is not important to the story or situation. Logan is a weak willed man who is only interested in his place in history. His character is a combination of all of the worst characteristics of the last 8 presidents or so.

I bet the producers and writers wish they had never mentioned which party Palmer represented as this has become a real life distraction of a fantanstic fantasy story.

I like Novick.

Is he still being detained by Logan? He released Jack, but what about Novick. I hope he won't be gone.

Logan issued an order to not torture the terror suspect, and then had Jack Bauer arrested when he did so anyway.

That sounds like something a Democrat would do. Or a RINO.

Keeler was clearly a Republican, but Logan could be a Dem if Keeler went for a national unity ticket, like Abe Lincoln did in 1864 - to much of the same results, with an incompetent Democrat taking over.
