Several years ago, I had to use my laptop for a lot of heavy business stuff, downloading programs, installing and configuring, burning CDs for backups, uploading results to the office, etc. I had to use the power supply because my battery would run down after a couple of hours and I was working about 10 hours straight at a time.
I knew the heat build up would eventually burn out some components, so I removed the battery (charging also causes a lot of heat) and used a wire baker's cooling pie rack as a platform for my laptop to sit on so it would have plenty of air circulation and not get heat reflected back from the surface of a table or desk. That worked really well and I never had a problem.
OK, now that I can breathe again, time for more serious smack talk!!
Steelers WIN - WooHOo!!! I only got to see the last half of the game, and for all the bitching I read about the referee-ing, I saw calls going both ways, so what more can you ask for. (I wanted to ask, is that all you need to do to 'give' a WU to someone else is to change the User Name in the Configure screen prior to a WU being sent, or do you have to time it to when a new WU is downloaded?)
I set my folding laptops on their sides (display at 45-90 deg to keyboard) with the cooling fan output UP. They seem to run cool that way.
