The Free Republic Folders is a team contributing unused CPU cycles to medical research working together to find a cure for cancer and Alheimer's, and many other diseases.

This special milestone post is dedicated to Janice L., a friend from Ellis County TX who is in Houston receiving aggresive cancer treatment. She is 36 with a loving husband and 4 children, and covets your prayers.

Ask any and all questions of the regulars who post here about Folding@Home. We will all gather to help you understand and get started folding.

We are now 1,000,000 points ahead of the DUmmies. How long before they claim they are entitled to some of our points, because it's unfair for us to have all the good computers. Or unfair because we had a head start. Or unfair because the Library won't let them fold.

Maybe they'll get sPitt, sKerry, and sKennedy to regulate and tax our point totals.

Janice made it back from Houston and reports that she survived her first round of the new Chemo. It made her sick, but not as bad as she feared. Heads back in a couple of weeks.

Folding is such a small thing for us. All it does to us while surfing is ... nothing. F@H just sits there and waits until nothing else is happening and then goes to work.

Thanks to one and all for folding and FReeping. Perhaps our combined work will be the difference maker in someone's life down the road.

Ah, the jealous, nasty-mouthed, self-serving, self-absorbed, small-minded folk over at the DUmp where they believe that protein folding is all for science and the benefit of humanity:

The Reagan
[edited, see link below] over at Free Republic have team members with access to computer labs.

One person said he brought 90 CPUS online at 80% utilization which explains their stellar CPU growth lately.

It'd be funny to look into it a little bit and get the jerk fired for violating IT regulations.

Okay, so a little bit of help here...

I've been turning out this 600+ pt Gromacs core for 4 days, and today I got 121 points! Bull puckey! One of my processors has been dedicated to this task and what do I get, one day worth of points and a loss in status...

Where do I complain, in the FAH community?

Yeah, I'm not to happy...
