"Mullins said members of each team also are expected to adhere to policies set by the coach. Bartow's policy includes statements regarding expected behavior for cheerleaders."
I'm siding with the University. Sounds like they want their cheerleaders to be seen in a certain way, wholesome young ladies. Half dressed waitresses doesn't fit the image they are trying to project. And it sounds like she signed an agreement stating such.
Tuffy --
Have you WATCHED what modern-era college cheerleaders DO when they cheer, particularly at basketball games?
Ahem ...
Wholesome AIN'T the word.
IT's not your father's rah-rah sis-boom-bah
My daughter will NOT be a cheerleader (how's THAT for attitude!)
Many cheerleading outfits are more revealing that the official uniform of Hooters...
LOL! Oh Please! Have you seen some of the cheers they have these girls doing? Compare a girl serving food to the imitation rutting they do on the court - there is none. This is hypocrisy on the part of the university, tell me in which situation she has a minni skirt on with her legs spread wide more often, for the schools benefit or for her job?
If that were the case, they would need to end the recognition of the homo organization on campus.
Seems we have someone (coach's wife) with her knickers in a knot. As I said - private university? Go for it. But, you cannot enforce this in a public institution. It's too subjective, and the first judge that gets this case is going to jump ugly on the university.
So it's OK for the basketball team to go to Hooter's but not for the woman to work there?
Sorry, but I disagree.
And letting the cheerleader cheer at a game knowing full well she was going to throw her off after, seems to me to be disingenuous. I wonder if the coach had an ulterior motive.
Hmmm... Have you seen a college cheerleader lately? I bet her cheerleader outfit is more revealing than her Hooters outfit.
They should eliminate the cheerleading squad. The women wear next to nothing skirts and allow young man who are not their husband to touch them as they perform for guys wearing shorts and tank tops.
I wonder if that's how the football team sees them?
