Hey, he may be a liberal democrat in virginia, but he's still better than most of the national democrats.
He gave a good speech, if you could ignore his eyebrow. And he only have a few untruths, and even they were grounded in a semblance of the truth, which is more than I can say for most democrats.
And I will note with pride that he resisted saying the word "corruption" (he said cronyism, but not corruption).
I will note also that his "better way" is that democrats in our state work WITH the republicans, rather than blocking them at every turn. If his own party would listen to him the country would be better off.
Hey, Howard Dean just sent me an e-mail. He will pretend to like Kaine's speech, but the fact is a lot of republicans will have appreciated the speech, and that has GOT to privately bother the true democrats.
I was a bit embarrassed that he couldn't speak better, and he messed up some words, and for a while he sounded like a robot, but he caught his stride and I think he closed well. He wouldn't last 10 seconds in the democrat caucus, and his "better way" is anathema to the MoveOn crowd, and frankly he proposed very little.
He is right about Virginia, we are a great state. Our acheivements belie the national democrat notion that the Bush policies are ruining our country, and that obstructionism is the only nobel act of a minority party.
OK, that's all. I wanted to defend my governor for one night, in the spirit of pride in my commonwealth. I may have my gripes with my governor, but he is MY governor, the governor of the great state of Virginia, the best state in the United States.
My problem isn't the untruths, it's the "federal government is suppose to do this, the federal government is suppose to do that" attitude. The feeding from the government teat needs to end.
He sucks and we are lucky we have a Republican legislature that will prevent him from doing much damage.
Hey, to show you how bad it is for the democrats. The Dean e-mail I just got, it didn't even MENTION Kaine. Can you believe it? The Democrats sent out a post-SOTU e-mail, and not a single word in the e-mail talks about the person THEY chose to provide the democrat response.
Kaine said he would do his own speech, and I believe he did, and I don't think the democrats are really all that happy, especially since Gingrich praised Kaine's speech.
Hey, Charles, did Kaine come over to your Christmas display and stick his finger in the outdoor socket?
That would explain The Eyebrow.
