I gave him back to my sister who at that time raised German Shepherds used by the OK State Police.

This is the correct attitude sir/ma am. If you can't control the animal, and I don't mean beat it with chains....I mean by good training and perhaps a obedience school, then by all means send the dog to someone that can.

Most people can't handle a Scottie or Chihuahua, let alone a Pit Bull or German Shepard. At least you have the intelligence and good sense to know your limits......

Definately an understatement. Actually, at the time the shepherd was given to me, I had just gotten out of the service. I had $900 in my pocket, no job, and a new wife. The dog was the most beautiful German Shepherd I had ever seen, even to this day. The way this young dog carried himself was extraordinary and this was the primary reason for his intimidating appearance. He did very well after my sister took him back but I'm not sure if the dog was ever used by the State Police. I don't think so. Like me, my sister is now much older now. Both of us know our limitations. She raises small dogs and I like them as well.
