Angelina Jolie told a summit of business leaders and politicians, many driven to distraction by the Hollywood siren, to concentrate on the real issues.
"I just think if I can ask anything it's for everybody in this room, including myself, to stay focused on the issues," Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. refugee agency, told an audience at the World Economic Forum on Friday.
"To follow up on Darfur, to watch what is happening in the courts, to follow up on Nepal ... on Afghanistan," she said.
Jolie uses her celebrity pulling power to draw attention to humanitarian crises in places such as Darfur, Chad and Pakistan.
The Oscar-winner and her beau Brad Pitt, whose child she is carrying, have reduced the global elite at Davos to star-struck autograph hunters, scrambling over each other to get a glimpse of the actress and her man.

Can you blame them for being driven to distraction?

"I just think if I can ask anything it's for everybody in this room is to stay focused on the issues" I hope she wasn't wearing a tight sweater when she was giving that speech.

She sure has large lips, I wonder what they cost her?
Another thing I wonder about is how often they audit the UN refugee agency. I bet they suck almost as much money out of that as the oil for food money.

How about focusing on the cause and maybe THEN you'll be able to start solving the problem
Throwing more money won't solve the problem ... because there is to much corruption that the money is not getting to the people who really need it

Did she go to college? What are her diplomatic credentials? This is just hilarious. A tattooed, blood-drinking Hollywood bimbo telling the world how to live.

Well, I suppose Angelie Jolie's films have outsold Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom". Perhaps that makes her more qualified to speak at a world economic summit. /sarc

Jolie had it a bit easier than that. She's Jon Voight's daughter. "Hollywood royalty" as they say. Of course she doesn't speak to her father, who from everything I know and see, is a lovely man.
