I like a lot of the vehicles that are so ugly they're cool. All those vehicles that people hate...like I think the Aztek looks like a cockroach from outer space. And I rather like that about it.

I have a sick mind, I guess.

All I care about is whether it can get me from point A to point B without any problems. LOL!

What happens when the snow is 20 feet deep or you need to bump people out of the way??? :)

Then you would have loved the Ford Pinto or the AMC Gremlin. But those were before your time.

Have you looked at auto/equipment dealerships?
Many work with out of date systems that they are trying to keep going as new product comes along.

Yeah! I saw a Gremlin the other day! Way cool...

As I said, I realize this is a sign that somethin' in my head isn't wired right. ;-)

Whoa...that *is* pretty nifty. Like a Wrangler only with actual storage capacity - which has always been the Wrangler's shortcoming, IMO.

It's kinda how Jeeps were originally meant to be, no? Bet they'll sell like crazy...

The last Gremlin was produced the year I was born. I don't remember ever seeing one, though -- they must have all been off the road by the time I got to the age of remembrance. LOL!

You can fix that!

Self-study is always available. Not to mention a lot of employment centers offer training in various things.

And, though I know it isn't for everyone, the military is a great way to get experience in a LOT of things, along with being of service and getting to travel and all. Granted, it's not just another job. But I wouldn't trade my time in the service for anything.

The rear looks like it could have been a first-generation Jeep. LOTS of storage space -- there was a container under the spare tire on the side, and it looked like there were storage areas behind the driver and passenger doors.

It is absolutely a sight to behold.

Well...most don't need a full-time person to just do day-to-day support. And I don't do programming or anything along those lines.

I've looked all over the place locally. It's been rather frustrating. I guess at this point I'm taking it as a sign that I need to move on, though I feel like a bit of failure. I've even called temp agencies and told 'em I'd do pretty much anything - stuff envelopes or anything like that. No calls. I'm not sure why!

In about three weeks I'll be looking in a new area, though - could be this drought is about to end! ;-)

Why do people have to keep saying things like that.

You really know how to bring home the reality of advancing age.

Because of the gas milage, or does it add power?

I realize that's prolly a stoopid question...but be gentle! Heh...

Well, you get more torque with a 2.8L, 4 cylinder diesel than a 4.0L six cylinder gas engine (295 lb-ft vs. 235 lb-ft).

I imagine the fuel economy would be better, too, although I was thinking more in terms of durability.
