Well, that's good.
Moving, are you? Been there recently.
Yeah, last night my internet connection kept going out. And coming back on just long enough to go out again. It was toying with me.
It was really weird for a few weeks after the move...I kept thinking that I had to get back! If I was ever in St. Louis before, I usually had to leave home on a Thursday or Friday and return on Saturday.
Actually getting to stay still doesn't seem right!
Yeah...considering I just did this eight or nine months ago, it's not as hard as it might be. I had practice. ;-)
I'm more worried about the drive than anything else. I don't do traffic.
Hi y`all
Heh...when I drove out from Vermont to CO, I kept thinking, "This part is going to be tough coming back..." or "Hey, we should stop here again on the way back!" and then realizing that wasn't gonna happen.
Yeah, the drive can be tough. I had to drive five hours, longer than I ever had before.
I guess since you're moving only 9 months later, it won't be too tough. We moved out of the place I grew up. Goodbye, childhood memories!
Are you using movers, or are you hauling your own stuff?
You have probably said before and I missed it,but what kind of work are you looking for?
Howdy.
I don't know if I ever told you, but my kitties were horrible! Just when I had what seemed like five minutes of silence, we started hitting the highways of St. Louis with all the glorious potholes and bumps.
Every time I would go over a bump, Calvin would start hissing. It wasn't fun.
Howdy!!!
Hauling my own. I don't have much - pared down to the essentials when I did the first move. I'll mail the books (media rate...shouldn't be horribly expensive) and the rest should fit in the van.
I have depth perception issues...which is one reason driving in traffic isn't my bad. Otherwise I'd think about getting a trailer for the furniture. As it is...I'll just replace it. I don't have anything fancy anyway.
Hey, carl! We had another reasonable day today, although it was a bit gloomy.
I do PC support / system admin type stuff. I'll probably look for admin assistant or data entry type work if I can't find what I want right off. Should at least get me some local names on my resume!
You're lucky you have a van. When I made my last big move, all I had was a Dodge Neon. I put the rest of my stuff in storage, and ended up chucking most of it after a while. It made me appreciate the concept of traveling light through life.
That's the kind of work I've thought about going into. I'm out of college with a 2-year degree.
It's been a fruitless search so far, though.
My guys are good travelers, but if I don't have a passenger this time, I'm worried they'll try to get into the front. Since I'll be driving about nine hours a day if all goes well, I can't very well keep 'em cooped up. I'd be all worried about stopping every tiny bit to check on them and let them use the litter box.
They slept in the back most of the way here, and would probably do it again...but if they get curious, I could be in trouble.
I think we're going to do some trial trips - my roommate and I - to see if they remember the you-must-stay-in-back rule. ;-) They're pretty good at obeying set rules, but that isn't exactly one they've often had to remember.
Heh. When I cleaned out my office, I made the mistake of getting boxes way too big for my books. I had eight boxes, some of which had to weigh at least 100 pounds -- I'm not exaggerating.
It was like a strongest man competition; by the time I carried the fourth box up the flight of stairs and into my apartment, my legs were wobbling like I was having muscle failure.
The next four stayed in the car until the next day.
