This isnt about conservatism. It's about voicing an opinion. Since when is anyone not in politics in this country MANDATED to follow any party line? I sure as hell am not. Im a big fan of Bush but I'll stray from the heard when it comes to issues like closing the border and YES - not shedding a tear ff Seanishould take a dirt nap.
RIP, he was in some great movies, and was really terrific in Reservoir Dogs.
I agree. We use our druthers, and everybody goes ape-$hit. I'd druther brother sean went before St. Peter, not Chris. That's my druthers.
"Dirt Nap"...now THAT's funny!!
You know the death penalty is a hard issue for me. I support the death penalty in cases where the preponderance of evidence is so heavy the there is absolutely no doubt of the defendant's guilt. The manner in which it is used now precludes it to fault. I do believe there are many who deserve the death penalty. Now, you will tell me about the millions of people that Castro has killed. If Castro is a murderer and is tried and convicted as such, I would have no problem with his execution. But I don't really see that as "wishing death upon someone". I see that as dealing justifiable punishment to an unjust criminal.
Thanks for the post. both Penn brothers are talented (dont know the musician I guess). It is unfortunate that Sean seems to be such a hater of our values ...... I think he has done some good work (and some poor, like many other actors)
Prayers for them all during this difficult time.
Took it personally huh? Did I mention your handle anywhere? When's your 12th birthday?
They are both very talented singer/songwriters who sometimes tour together.
However I met and ended up having a couple of tacos with Chris Penn some years ago at Titos in Culver city A very down to earth guy
We BS-ed about the food and the assorted riff raft that dines at Tito's and we talked about the north ridge earth quake that happened a few weeks back that was that RIP Friend
I was curious why he died, but that picture pretty much answered it.
What you seek is justice. And I agree that that is valid. I think the bible is pretty clear about motive and sin. To wish death on someone is immoral, from my understanding of the bible. To enact justice on the immoral is justified and proper. If you enact the penalty of death upon a criminal, you are in no way wishing for their death. They have brought that burden upon themselves. Justice is not an emotion, a wish implies one.
Kum by ya my Lord, kum by ya
Kum by ya my Lord, kum by ya
Kum by ya my Lord, kum by ya
Oh, Lord kum by ya.
Someones crying Lord, kum by ya
Someones praying Lord, kum by ya
singing
laughing
Come by here my Lord, come by here.
No will you please help me clean up the puke on my screen?
I remember him in the 80's comedy "The Wild Life".
Too bad, I liked him a lot more than his brother.
Ping!
Thanks for the articulate answer. I have a difficult time with the death penalty as well, but also see the value and importance of it to society. It bothers me, but it doesn't.
To further complicate the situation, I have no problem with our soldiers fighting in Iraq and that is the death penalty by association.
Issues of life and death are just flat out complicated. I find them interesting, in a gallows sort of way of course. ; )
BTW, I wasn't trying to trap you, just trying to understand your thought processes. Because it is a not wholly settle issue in my mind, I am always searching for new angles. Thanks again.
