Here is what you do. Call Colorado's Right to Life people and get the statistics for how many people are Catholic, how many oppose abortion, etc. Then you write a letter asking him why he has announced he will go against the wishes of his own constituents, and ask him to justify his vote. Be sure to tell him that you do not think the Vanguard issue nor the CAP membership are legitimate issues and that you will not accept them as legitimate reasons to vote against Alito, but rather excuses to avoid supporting the president's nominee. Point out Alito's good points (ABA rating, support of sitting judges, support of law clerks including democrat law clerks who are members of the ACLU) and make him spend time telling you!
Jane, you are a GOLD MINE! Thank you!
This is the part that poses the greatest problem to me. His constituents are MEANT TO BE the state legislatures, as per the Founders, NOT the uninformed idiot voters that want nothing but a free ride paid for by the government. That CONFOUNDED 17th Amendment. I will have to word that differently. I can't bring myself to call them his constituents. Constituents are supposed to be individual voters as was meant for the CONSTITUENTS of the House of Representatives.
Anyway, thanks again, Jane.
I am now here at FR for my anti-biotic.
Excellent advice, Miss Marple. I do believe you really are a political operative. Hah! At least you are "our" political operative".
