Strange how some (usually American Protestant) posters are very quick to see the applicability of Heinlein's maxims to Islam or Hinduism or even Catholicism, but get all bent out of shape when such maxims are turned back on them.
The distance between the Muslim who hates life on Earth and human sexuality and wants to die as quickly as possible to get his 72 virgins and the Christian who hates life on Earth and human sexuality and wants to die as quickly as possible to go and serve Jesus just isn't all that great - the Christian's version of this self-loathing is only preferable in that, unlike the Muslim, he usually doesn't try to take a whole lot of others with him. ;)
I am actually a Christian, but I am bothered to no end by what goes on among the fundamentalists. They are anti-sex, anti-science, anti-reason, etc., etc. Christianity is supposed to be defined by love of God, love for one's fellow man and forgiveness. Instead, too many today think the most important aspects of Christianity are judgmentalism and fear. Those have no proper place at all.
