Hollywood should do some research as to what kind of movies make money.
It's usually the kind of movies people want to see.
Ang Lee ruined the Hulk......
This guy is without a doubt the most over-rated director in recent movie history.
On the other hand......
Director Ron Howard has successfully tapped into what America wants.
A BEAUTIFUL MIND.....
CINDERELLA MAN
APOLLO 13
BACKDRAFT
PARENTHOOD
COCOON
SPLASH....
just a few of my favorite movies diected by Howard.
Traditional values and rich character development.

When I was in college in 1995, I wrote an English paper countering the Hollywood propaganda that they provide graphic sex and endless violence because "that's what everybody wants to see." If that's true, then why did Apollo 13, Forest Gump, and Lion King do so well? My liberal English teacher wasn't happy and grudgingly gave me a B+ on it. I think she was hoping that my paper would say that Hollywood isn't the problem, movies are a reflection of society and that everybody wants to see Tarantino flicks with their 3 year olds.

You know, I keep hearing about how great his movies are and I just don't see it.
"A Beautiful Mind" was a beautiful bore in my opinion. A complete waste of 2 hours.

I see you have "A Beautiful Mind" on that list.
The film was sanitized of the subjects homosexual behavior including an arrest for solicitation in a public restroom.

I agree, but he is going to do DiVinci Code next summer. That should not say that he doesn't have family values though. He just knows it is going to be a hit and he wants to be part of it.
