The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Looking at the outdoor pictures right now. Wow! They really did clear off a LOT.

I think the rope'll allow less movement for a long distance drive. Less risk of givin' myself a black eye right before heading out, too. ;-)

I think those lights are gonna make you nuts though... They're motion sensors, so I think they'll be turning off and on a lot all night when cars go by at the store. Hopefully you can rig them to just stay on, and the one on the porch too. That's what I'd want anyhow.

Looks like there are some switches on the bottom...maybe there's a way to set them so they come on as soon as it gets dark.

Glad they're there, in any case, even if they do go on and off at night!

Yeah - good to have them. That's your bedroom window.... Hopefully they can be fixed so they aren't keeping you up all night checking on movement.

Heh...hopefully if I do grab some for plants, it doesn't hurt his feelings! ;-)

At least they're not gone - was hoping those wouldn't get thrown out.

Heh...yeah, those dolls work better for gals than they do for guys.

I just played around with it for a bit. I *wish* I was this skinny...and that Tam was that angelic...
