Quiet day in the hobbit hole today, I guess. I'm in my favorite place - home - happy that a hectic week is *over*. Wahooo! Now I'm mulling over what to fix for dinner.

It's pork chop Friday here. For some reason Steve's family has pork chops every Friday and we do too.

Yay! Friday, and I'm home! Now all I have to do is make a reasonable dent in my pile o' homework and I'll be set.

I ordered in a case of low-carb pasta (ordering in bulk is the only way to get this particular brand around here) and I am considering fixing some.

I could have homework if I wanted to. My team leader seems to think we're not busy enough and keeps piling it on. Folks are frustrated, my form of protest is not bringing it home over the weekend. I have a house to clean and a Super Bowl to cater.

Speaking of bulk...how would I go about buying big bags of frozen veggies? I mean restaurant sized bags of veggies.

Like these:

That's a good question. I wonder if big food clubs like Sams Club or BJ's have veggies in that size bag. Might be easier to check there than to try to negotiate something with a wholesaler.

They do...but I compared prices once and ounce per ounce, they're the same as the small packages of stuff at walmart.

Old Sam doesn't budge a cent.

2J, I've used PictSweet with mixed results. I don't like their Chopped Spinach or their Cut Spinach --- lots of sticks and woody stems included.

On the other hand, their Seasoned Green Beans With Onions And Red Peppers is pretty good! I like to take a box of PastaRoni (one of the Angel Hairs works best) and combine it with chopped meat (leftover ham or turkey) and Sugar Snap Peas "doctored up" with sauteéd onions and other yummies. But a few handfuls of those Seasoned Green Beans works fine, and isn't nearlyas much effort.

From their website, I see that they have Garlic Spinach. Oh, mamma, I see Angel Hair Florentine in my immediate future!

NASA TV is covering a spacestation space walk that is going to launch a satellite my brother did work on. They are throwing an old worn out space suit away outside and it is stuffed with hamradio gear to make it a miniature short duration satellite (before it burns up)

I like their Brussels Sprouts. I liked 'em so much I wrote 'em and told them so! Heh heh! Then I pointed out that they were advertising a carb count of 8 per serving, but in actuality it's 5, because carb counters don't count the fiber carbs. I suggested that they replace the little banner that says "Eight Carbs per serving" on the front with a banner that says "Five Net Carbs per Serving"

Got this nice note back:

Thank you for your email and for taking the time to share your comments with us. We are always pleased to hear from our customers. Thank you for sharing the tip on the carbohydrate information. I find it to be very helpful and useful information and I have forwarded your suggestion to the Pictsweet Packaging Design Department.
We appreciate having you as a customer.
Have a wonderful day!

Even if they think I'm a nut, I bet I get a coupon in the mail.

Ungh...except that, because it's Friday, Mr. Beepy is starting the tunes early and will prolly play 'em late. *sigh*

Just had some folks stop by to look at the desk I'm selling, but it wasn't what they were lookin' for. Which is OK, since I have others that are interested...but I really hate dealing with selling stuff! I'm NOT a natural salesperson, to say the least...
