Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've got to get to bed folks.
Try not to have nightmares of aging rockers wearing fishnet and spandex. :-D
Pleasant dreams!

Hey, theboy's wrestling tourney is in Joplin, MO tomorrow at the senior high school. It's 2 hours from here, so it's probably closer to you. Gotta be there at 7am, so we'll be getting up in less than six hours. Off to bed here. Night.

Please remember, it's everyone in the Hobbit Hole who has a hand in this. Prayers and encouragement are just as appreciated as cash.

Good Morning All: What's that white stuff on the ground? Where's Yellowface? Hmmm. Sip.
Mrsnad - drive safely. Good luck to theboy.
OT: if you have five downspouts and develop them into water gardens, the metro area only needs 9,995 more. Seems doable to me.
Looks like a good day to go therange.

Sheesh! What happened in here last night?
***rummages for album cover he can't find (it was an after the party cover, can't remember the group)***
Just glad I didn't see all those pictures ~before~ I went to bed.
Gotta get out and do some yard work before the rain gets here.

Yeah...[sip] No outdoor work today.
Guess I'll clean something and maybe put up some pictures.
To: Corin Stormhands; Overtaxed
heh, you're right about those pics. Didn't know who most of them were/are. Guess I was listening to a different ~ channel ~ during those years.
Indoor activities seem appropriate today.

Mornin'.
Sorry about the 80s flashback. *humming Love Is A Battlefield* :-)

Love Is A Battlefield
Only for about the first 15-20 years. If you make it that long, things kind of mellow out. :-) LSA

*laughing*
Lookin' like it might be a really pretty day outside, so I'm gonna get my girls and my nephew dressed and shoo them into the backyard for a while.
Otherwise, they'll destroy the house out of sheer boredom. :-D

We've got grey skies and icy sidewalks. Gypsy wants her walk, maybe she'll get one if it warms up. Today is OB's 57th birthday, shhh, don't tell anyone!
To: RMDupree; osagebowman; Overtaxed
Got all dressed up. Knees braced. Overalls. Work boots. Hobbit Hole knife.
Even got Jr. up and started.
It wasn't ~supposed~ to start raining until this afternoon.
So, change of plans. Work here in the office all day.
Fortunately, I've got Nana on the TV in one room and Luke playing Nintendo in the other. Who needs 80s music to destroy their eardrums?
(Is it too early to drink?)

Grey skies here, but unseasonably warm. We're taking the inlaws to a movie for their anniversary. Going to see The New World. Hope it's as good as Last of the Mohicans. The awesome thing is that Smith explored the Chesapeake Bay and the Susquehanna River which is where I live. Many of the landmarks near here got their first European names from him. It'll be good to see the Eastern Tribes portrayed on film. Too many folks think American Indian = Sioux.
