I'm really looking forward to Hicks tonight--he's supposed to sing Ray Charles.Hi Jonny. I'm looking forward to the guys. They have to be better than the girls were last night.
Hicks should do a very good Ray Charles. I hope he pulls out a harmonica for a few bars, and I hope the song is very bluesy. That's my kind of music.

BTW, Jonny, I have discovered a song called "The River," by Michael Bolton. It's very intriguing. Kind of a fusion of African and Latin, but stronger on the Latin beat. I wish the guys could do some music like that. Meaning I wish they could do something risky that demands real vocal control and excellent phrasing.
What I'm saying is that I'm hoping for some originality from the better guys in this year's competition, and maybe that's why I've been warming to Hicks after my initial blah impression of him.
