Isn't he (Barry) also going to be performing next week on Idol?

I thought it was a 50's week, so maybe Barry is helping them with that style (I hope). I just don't want to hear them mangle his beautiful songs.

It should be intertaining, to say the least...and hopefully I won't have to have the tv muted the whole evening. :)

It was just the way you said this:
A YOUNG Linda, but NOT anymore...

I guess it's because I'm not young anymore either :(

At least Ace doesn't pout or get all huffy when receiving constructive criticism. There are too many divas in this year's crop, but Ace is not one of them.

I hope that Covais kid goes home next.

He has that 50's album out, so it could still be 50's week.

Carrie was not strictly country. Her rendition of Heart's Alone was pretty damned good if you asked me.

I hear too many people voting on who they prefer, not who sings the best or performs the best. Pickler got a ton of votes because people like her, not based on what she did the other night. For Kevin to be in the top 9 is a joke.

A YOUNG Linda, but NOT anymore...

What I meant by this (and with the pic posted), is that Katherine does look like a Linda when she was young, but not now that she's older...

For the most part, this really is a humble bunch, at least the guys. Talk about trial by fire.

AND, I also liked Constantine from last year. So it doesn't bother me one bit, when people compare them.

I think Ace has a decent voice, good looks and with proper training, could do well. After hearing him do Father Figure, I thought to myself, he could kind of do the George Michael style of music and probably get away with it. Albeit, not as good as George Michael, but same style.

I'm sure you aren't alone. There is another poster who likes him, too.

He was seriously shaken after the voting results. Couldn't get it together at the dinner they had afterwards. I think he started believing the hype around him and put out some crappy performances. When the people at home spoke it really was a slap in the head.

Expect better things from him in the upcoming weeks.

I hear too many people voting on who they prefer, not who sings the best or performs the best.

And THIS (IMO), is exactly why American Idol is beginning to suck and is no longer a true talent show. It's become a popularity contest and that is so not the gyst of the show to begin with. Aren't we supposed to vote in who is BEST?

They should have a "Queen" week, where they do songs from Queen.

That would be interesting, imo.

Hmmmmm.....

Taylor starts out and does "Fat Bottomed Girls"

Show stops when Mandesa comes on stage and throws him a serious beat down.....

I'm a big Barry Manilow fan. They had him on our local public television the other night. They recorded his 100th show in Vegas and he was promoting public television. He was on for 2 hours. It was great. I have his new 50's CD. I really like it. Didn't AI do the Manilow songs a couple of years ago. Some of his songs are hard to sing.

Then Chris comes out and sings "Killer Queen" and Bucky sings "Another One Bites the Dust"

Then you have Ace, who comes out singing "Bohemian Rhapsody"

And Kevin will sing "I Want to Ride My Bicycle"
