Well that was a dirty trick!
I do love it here (I'm rural though and detest Seattle) and the trees I love need all this rain. I wouldn't really trade our rain for dust, lack of shade, hurricanes and unbearable heat other places have.
But there is something to be said for the snowbirds who summer here and head south for winter. Our summers are beautiful, and not so hot that we spend summer indoors. Our winters are... well... wet.
Well, now when you ask the 7-year old how she likes Seattle, she says "I hate it! I want to come home!" Of course, The Sister is now gaining weight and hating life too. Gotta love all that rain, huh?
I'm confused about the 'record' of number of rainy days.
I moved from the Seattle area in 2000. I recall the winter of either '99 or '98 there was a 'record' rainfall of 90 days in a row. It may have been cloudy days in a row, but it was a record of some sort, I thought it was rain.
