Thanks so much for the reminder. I read tvw/op to catch up on West Wing, it is hilarious, but thought their reviews of Survivor were usually too snarky, but beggars can't be choosers (my grandmother's favorite saying). Also, thanks for running the forum, I appreicate it. Take care,

The title of tonights episode is Breakdown!
The official SeeBS website offers up the following little morsels of information:
When four tribes become two, the last survivor fears the worst, but then is surprised when Jeff reveals a twist in the game. As promised in the TV Guide preview, the four tribes become two in a school yard type pick-em. And since there are an odd number of survivors left, one will be the last. Jeff then informs that person that he/she will get to choose which new tribe he/she will be on. Really big twist huh? But wait! Theres more! Since whichever tribe you pick will have one extra player, you will also pick one player to not only sit out the Reward Challenge, but that player will immediately be whisked off to Exile Island, Ah HA! That makes your decision even more tricky!
One Survivor makes a major mistake and leaves the tribe disappointed, hungry, and still desperately trying to get food. Since this is the second episode and the Reward during the second episode is typically fishing supplies, its a safe bet that one Survivor pulls a BIG bone-headed move to lose the Reward Challenge for his/her tribe.
As the Survivors get to know each other they waste no time forming alliances, leaving two feeling vulnerable and two in a position of power. Without giving away too much about the new tribes make-up too soon, Im gonna say that the two feeling vulnerable are Austin and Nick, while the two in a position of power are Terry and Dan.
One Survivor struggles to adjust to life on the island. Will he overcome the pressure or choose to leave the island forever? Will Shanes attempts to go cold turkey from a 3-pack-a-day cigarette habit prove to much for him? Will he pull an Osten and call it quits? Will his new tribe even go to Tribal Council so Jeff can belittle Shane in front of the cameras? If his new tribe goes to Tribal Council, will his tribe honor his wishes and let him quit, or will they boot a weaker player and try to keep the tribe strong? Is this clue even referring about Shane in the first place, or is it just wishful thinking on my part? Tune in tonight for these answers and more.
From the vidcaps of the previews, we can pretty much tell who is going to be on which tribe after the pick-em is all over. (That is, unless the producers threw in a few fake vidcaps just to mess with our heads!) The new Tribes are:
The Casaya Tribe (Purple buffs): Aras, Bobby, Cirie, Courtney, Danielle, Melinda and Shane.
The La Mina Tribe (Orange buffs) Austin, Bruce, Dan, Misty, Nick, Ruth Marie, Sally and Terry.
Again, the vidcaps show all players competing in the Reward Challenge except one. And that player is Bruce. I think that Bruce is the last player in the pick-em and while he chooses to remain with the La Mina Tribe, I also think he picks himself to be banished to Exile Island. Well, guess you could say that was mighty neighborly of him.
It appears as if the Reward Challenge is an obstacle course type race with one of the objectives to collect carved wooden snakes along the way. The vid caps show the tribes pretty even throughout most of the race. But an exhausted looking Aras and a sad looking Courtney lead me to believe that La Mina wins the Challenge.
We are also treated to vidcaps of an energetic looking Bruce, practicing his karate moves on a beach that looks quite a bit like an Exile Island beach.
The Immunity Challenge appears to be one described during yet another TV Guide interview with the production crew. During that interview Zach Jensen, the Production Art Director described the boats and the challenge as such: "These boats are actually part of a challenge. They've got a glass bottom, we made these boats in here, some of the lads knocked [them] together. So yeah, it's to do with the searching for skeletons, in the, in coffins underwater, and transporting them to their new home in tombs on the, on the island." So there you have it, setting out to sea in glass bottom boats, each tribe must locate coffins underwater, and drag the contents (or maybe even the coffins) to the surface. Once they have collected all the skeletons they make for shore where they must entomb them in their final resting place. My guess, (since they only show Terry dragging a coffin underwater) is that La Mina wins the Immunity Challenge, sending Casaya to Tribal Council.
Now the question remains, will Shane quit or will his tribe boot a weaker player?
Well, let me tell you, I used to have a 2-pack-a-day habit that went to a 3-pack-a-day habit on the weekends. And this went on for 23 years. Then one day the wife and I both decided to quit. Now granted it wasnt completely cold-turkey. She lasted 3 days on the patch and I lasted 4. Then we threw the patches away and that was 9 years ago and we havent had a smoke ever since. So believe me, If I can do it, Shane is blowing so much hot air. When push comes to shove (mainly, Jeff shoving him off the Island), he wont quit. So my pick for tonights bootee is Melinda.
Well, there you have it:
Reward Challenge Winner: The La Mina Tribe
Banished to Exile Island: Bruce
Reward Challenge Winner: The La Mina Tribe
Tonights Bootee: Melinda
