The writer-director of "Kabbalah," an Off-Off-Broadway religious satire in which cast members strip naked, yesterday blasted female lead Emily Stern as a "Jewish-American princess" for abruptly quitting the show, and called her famous father, Sirius Satellite Radio jock Howard Stern, "a psycho."
Israeli-born stage maven Tuvia Tenenbom, who runs the Jewish Theater of New York, told me he canceled the run when the 22-year-old actress - who played Madonna in the show - bowed out after six weeks at the Triad Theater on W. 73rd St. because a couple of Howard Stern fan sites exposed her celebrity parentage.

Isn't it interesting that all of a sudden, Howard is concerned about the ramifications of a young woman who chooses to expose her naked body in public.
"After I cast her in late September, her father called her in for a meeting," [Tenenbom] recounted. "She came back very shaken. She said, 'My father basically told me that if I take the role [which requires her to be on stage nude for the last 10 minutes], that his enemies would buy blocks of tickets, throw garbage at my vagina, take nude pictures of me and put them all over the Internet.'
I have always said that while Stern is smart, deep down, he hates his fans. He gives them what they want, and rakes in the cash by the truckload, but he's perceptive enough to know that his fans aren't the type of people that he wants around his family. In past interviews, he has admitted that he doesn't want to interact with his drooling devotees (my words, not his) when he is out and about, but has also taken steps to carefully guard his daughters' lives while digging dirt on those of his radio competitors. Most disgusting to me was a Cleveland (or was it Buffalo?) radio jock ("Cousin Wheezy," I believe) who had to endure Stern joking about his daughter being mentally disabled.
Some might suggest that the cast of mentally disabled and certifiably insane people he gathers around him as foils for abuse are getting money they couldn't dream of, but it is at the expense of their dignity. And now, Stern is worried about his precious little girl's voluntarily bared body getting posted on the Internet, something he, if I remember correctly, wished on Dr. Laura, whose intimate pictures were never intended for publication.
But hey, if Stern's really bothered about this, he can always wipe his tear-filled eyes with a Benjamin. Starting later today, we'll all find out how many people will pay hard-earned money just to hear the F-bomb on the radio.
I swear there was a thread on this story...but nothing shows up on search. It must have gotten the hook due to the pictures that got posted to it.

Which reminds me...remember how in 2004, there were Sternophiliac Freepers who bought into the ridiculous notion that Stern listeners were the swing vote, and that Stern's Bush-bashing would put Kerry in the White House?

as much as I dislike wease, it was disturbing to listen to and I truly felt sorry for the guy.
