its going to be worse then that. let's see how many wepaons we are able to make, when th semiconductor industry is lost to china and the pacific rim. i guess we can suit up a bunch of blue vested wal mart workers to be our army of the future, we can draft some Starbucks barristas to shoot frothed milk at the enemy.

I recently heard an Army general make the following interesting remark, "Logistically we are now dependent on the air bridge to Asia (for replacement parts)". This remark produced no dismay or consternation to the group of upper mid level logisticians he was speaking to. One would like to know how much of what the air bridge delivers originates in Communist China and simply gets stamped 'Japan' or 'Malaysia' or 'Taiwan'as the parts are put into final assembly at those places.

I do know that part of the reason for the ludicrously slow arming of the new Iraqi Army battalions is that the contract for small arms and mortars was subbed out to a Chinese company. For some reason they have had many many problems making deliveries in a timely and efficient manner.
