Hard to lump Munich and Brokeback Mountain in with Syriana and Jarhead at this point. They are both just beginning to go into wide release. I don't figure that Brokeback Mountain will do very well, but Munich certainly stands a good chance.
Syriana was disappointing for many reasons. Its strong leftist bent being cheif among them. But also as the article mentions the trailer makes it look very good when it is just very boring. Traffic was a good movie though.

Munich certainly stands a good chance Munich is in over 500 theatres and grossed $17m. Not exactly setting the world on fire, but you are right, it's still pretty early. Munich cost $70m to make so I'd be surprised if it turned a profit.
