My Dear Pissant,
I was raised in Washington State, and indeed it's beauty is remarkable. Unfortunately it is extremely liberal.
As a kid I had heard about "flag waving Americans" I thought it was a figure of speech, until I moved to California. During the first Gulf War, I was driving through Long Beach and saw a group of young and old people carrying flags. They would cross the street, push the button to cross in the other direction and cross again. There was a veteran who had set up his motorhome on shoulder of the road where it was wide enough t fit and he sat out front where he could see the many flags that he had displayed, and his sign that said "Support the Troops".
My mom comes to visit me from Washington and she is jealous of the conservative politics in Orange County. We drive through the neighborhood and see many flags on display on people's homes here.

Well, as states go, Wahington and Cali are on equal footing. LA, San Fran and many other places (like Bezerkley) are every bit as liberal or worse than Seattle or Olympia.
The main population center of Wash., the Puget Sound region, is exceedingly liberal, unfortuantely. But by county, this is a very red state. ALl of eastern Wash as well as the rural counties in central and Western Wash. are vastly more conservative than Seattle. But the Conservative movement is growing here, and will overtake the state within 5 years. We elected a very conservative governor, which was stolen by the shenaningans of King County. But I will work diligently to put this state into the Red column where it belongs.
My home town of Tacoma LOVEs the military and those bonds are only going to grow.
Good luck in Cali, nevertheless.
