Not at all. I simply recognize that Islam leaves the non-Islamic world the simple choice of defending itself or being conquered and destroyed. They force the them-or-us choice, and there is no shame in choosing "us". If I had divine powers I would make it so we did not have to make that choice. Islam and its adherents are the ones who consciously choose to make war. As the old saying goes, we didn't start it but we are sure as heck going to finish it.

I fully understand your discomfort; it's not a pleasant situation to be in. But we are not in this position by our own choice, and if you value or love anything in life then you must resolve yourself to the only choice they have given us. Kill them, or die ourselves. Every possible middle ground has been tried and failed. Must I list the peoples and nations that Islam is right now making war upon to make this clear?

If you've got another solution I'd be quite eager to hear it. "Criminal prosecution" bought us 9/11, so I'm not going to buy into that one. Deterrence doesn't work against people who believe that they are promised eternal paradise if they die while trying to kill you. And treaties and truces are nothing to them but the opportunity to resupply, re-arm, and plot our deaths. What other option are we left with?
