Man Sues Government Over Ring Lost At Airport Security

A man is suing the federal government, alleging his $7,000 wedding ring was stolen as he passed through a security checkpoint at Logan International Airport.

John Wright, 51, says he and his wife were taking a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, in July when he placed the 1.53-carat diamond and gold ring in a plastic tub along with his Rolex watch and wallet.

Wright, of Tiverton, R.I., then placed the bin on the scanner conveyer belt as he and his wife, Janet, passed through the metal detector. When he retrieved his belongings, Wright said, the ring was missing.

"I hadn't even gone 15 feet on my vacation and I was robbed," said Wright, a health teacher in Somerset.

He said he alerted the three Transportation Security Administration screeners who were at the checkpoint, and they searched the conveyer belt without success.

Wright filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court last month after the TSA denied his claim seeking $7,000 to replace the ring. The lawsuit seeks reimbursement for the ring and attorney's fees.

Wright said he suspects one of the TSA screeners took the ring because there were no passengers in front of him as he went through the checkpoint with his wife, who was directly behind him.

Ann Davis, a spokeswoman for TSA, said she could not comment on the case, but said the agency does not tolerate workplace theft and aggressively investigates all complaints.

Tell me when the Jews fly a plane full of people into a building full of other people, as the crowning "achievement" of a centuries-long worldwide war-as-religious-obligation on all non-Jews and I'll concede a similarity.

I believe the idiot was probably ripped off. They tried to rifle through Mrs. B's wallet out of view, but she squawked and saved her dough.

I recall pre-9-11 when I removed my newish wedding band that a screener (nice black lady) admonished me never to take off my ring or other jewelry for screening.

I don't. Even a clunky stainless watch rarely sets off the magnetometer, and I am happy to let them waste time wanding me if they must.

Your remark puts you squarely in the same league as John Kerry and Dick Durbin. You're keeping bad company, yourself.

For some reason the TSA decided NOT to put my shower stuff back in my bag when I was on my way to Iraq.

The bastids.

But I NEVER take off my ring and put them on the conveyor belt. That is just asking for trouble. I'll put it in my pocket instead.

Time OUT!!

Thoughtomator DID NOT say anything about exterminating anyone.

I would have been the first to point out if he did so, but he didn't, nor would he I don't think, judging from his past posting.

Even if I did I guess he wouldn't find it so terrible, considering that he appears averse to dealing forthrightly with people who actually do want to exterminate everyone else and have been shouting it from the rooftops for generations.

USA Today had a story a while back about the black hole that is the claims for losses department at the TSA. As you might imagine, the gummint will give you an indifferent shrug even when you have a legitimate, rightful claim to damage or loss thanks to their army of trained monkeys.

'Aggressively' pursuing claims of theft means the TSA will throw enough paperwork and BS at you until you go away, you lowdown law-abiding taxpayer you.

when the real threat is clearly definable (Islam), as is the solution (forced conversion or extermination).

That's his quote. It looks pretty straigh forward to me.

Let's say, hypothetically, that instead of recognizing our choices with regard to our civilizational survival, I set extermination of all (fill in the blank) to be my highest goal, and actively recruited others to help make it happen.

What would you suggest be done about it?

You should be imprisoned or executed.

After a fair trial by a jury of your peers.

And that's exactly what I propose to do about the people who really have set that goal - the adherents of Islam.

So you do agree with me, you're just a little queasy about getting the job done. I don't blame you, it's ugly business. But it's best done sooner than later, because the price of waiting will be paid in the lives of the innocent.

So now you propose to return to the pre-9/11 method of treating jihad as isolated criminal activity?

I guess all those US soldiers were war criminals when they didn't give those poor Nazi soldiers a fair trial by a jury of their peers. Oh, the humanity!

So? If they don't conform to the norms of civilized society, i.e. NOT flying planes into buildings, as in, if they don't act like TERRORISTS, then we WON'T have to go into places like Afghanistan OR Iraq.

I understood him PERFECTLY.

Not at all. You're proposing to kill all of a certain belief whether innocent or not, women men and children. You as an individual are commiting a crime, an atrocity really. I have no problem watching someone like that leave the earth. I do have a problem with your ethnic cleansing ideas dressed up as a necessity.

So you agree that everyone o the Islamic faith should be exterminated. That puts you two in the same category.

Don't try to change the subject. Your post said nothing about jihadists. You specifically said all of Islam should be exterminated.
