Grumpy Old Conservatives is a terrible name, certainly has nothing to do with Ronald Reagan: probably the most genial President we've ever had.
In fact, grumpy conservative is an unfavorable stereotype and a really terrible idea.

Anyone asking about why Stanford might need help with CPU time should explain where they can get 203 Teraflops for nothing.

Active CPUS have returned WUs within 50 days. |
TFLOPS is actual flops from MD, not the peak values from CPU specs. |

Please accept my apologies for trying to inject a little humor into what otherwise has been an otherwise miserable thread. I will use the <-sarcasm > tags next time.

In fact, grumpy conservative is an unfavorable stereotype and a really terrible idea. That's why I've conceded, and stated in another post, that I support whatever the consensus is. It was put forth in a joking context, and was certainly never meant to be a serious contender for the final name. The only thing that is certain right now, is that in a very short time, we'll be known as something besides the Free Republic Folders... which, I might remind you, also is an unfavorable stereotype on the home boards, of at least two of our competitors... :)
