But a poster I've never seen around before comes on here and leads many to believe that Jim and FR are sponsoring this and I'm not allowed to question the legitimacy of this program??

Mo1,
I never, ever thought that Free Republic was promoting this. No one ever promoted Folding in this way. It was always understood by me that this was an activity for those of us who were interested in doing so. Folding proteins isn't a liberal endeavor. It's a humane endeavor. My sister died at age 38 of breast cancer. If I can help see that even one other person doesn't die that way, then I'll do what it takes. If Jim Robinson doesn't want the name of Free Republic to be used, that can be easily remedied. [I can see why he would want to guard the use of the name Free Republic-- I just didn't think about that until now.]
